This move comes as part of Nvidia’s partnerships with Reliance Industries and Tata group companies, announced in September, aimed at aiding them in creating AI-powered supercomputers, AI clouds, and generative AI applications.
Tata Communications:
- NVIDIA and Tata Communications are collaborating to develop an AI cloud infrastructure in India. This infrastructure will be powered by NVIDIA’s advanced AI chips, providing the necessary computing power for developing and deploying AI applications.
- Tata Communications has already started deploying the first set of NVIDIA AI chips and aims to increase availability by the end of the year.
AS Lakshminarayanan, Tata Communications’ managing director and CEO, confirmed the receipt and installation of some chips.
Reliance Jio Platforms:
- NVIDIA has signed a partnership with Reliance Industries’ Jio Platforms to build state-of-the-art AI supercomputers in India.
- Jio Platforms will use NVIDIA’s DGX Cloud supercomputer-on-cloud service as part of its AI infrastructure. This will be hosted across suitable data centers throughout India, with a total capacity of over 2,000MW.
These collaborations signify NVIDIA’s commitment to expanding its presence in India and supporting the growth of AI capabilities in the country. They also demonstrate the confidence that major Indian companies like Tata Communications and Jio Platforms have in NVIDIA’s technology to drive their AI initiatives.
